A long history.
Many successful partnerships.
In order to help reduce suffering during the post-war period, the Hermal factory Kurt Hermann began manufacturing and marketing antiscabetic agents, tar plasters and other household remedies in Magdeburg in 1945. The company relocated to Hamburg in 1953. The manufacturing facilities in Reinbek, which are still in use today, were commissioned in 1960. During its history, Hermal has belonged to a number of internationally renowned companies, such as Merck, Boots and Reckitt Benckiser, and is still manufacturing some of their products today. Laboratorios Almirall, S.A., an international company based in Spain, acquired Hermal in 2007 becoming the Almirall Hermal GmbH and Centre of Excellence for Dermatology since then.
